An amazing Museum showcasing the amazing history of Oakland International Airport from its beginnings in 1927 to the modern day. The collection includes many golden age aircraft, including a Lockheed Electra 10A, similar to the one Amelia Earhart flew on her last lfight in 1937, and a Short Solent Mark III Flying Boat, similar to the Pan Am Clipper Ships of the 1930s and 40s. Kids will really enjoy the outdoor hands-on exhibit area that includes a mock control towner playing live transmissions from North Field. The staff and volunteers here are very helpful and knowledgable. The Museum Store is well stocked with interesting gift items, books, posters, toys and models. The Museum is available as a venue for parties and events.
